Instruction
We offer instruction on all band and orchestra instruments as well as piano and harpsichord.

Our instructors have backgrounds in education and/or performance. They have a proven track record of motivating young people to achieve their chosen goals, whether these goals are related to a better command of their school music requirements, or extend further into contests and competitions. The level of mastery desired by the student will be the common goal of both student and teacher, a partial listing of our staff includes:

 

Courtney King

Violin instructor
Attends Emory University as a performance major.
Studies with Oliver Steiner, Graduate of Julliard,
         and 20 year faculty member of Eastman School
         of Music.
Freelances in the Marietta area for
         weddings and parties.
Past member of music study program at Valdosta
         State University Governor's Honors Program,
         and a Georgia all state orchestra.

Carol Lyn Butcher

Flute instructor
Graduated with a B.M. and M.M. in flute
        performance from Georgia State University.

She has taught at Agnes Scott College
        and Emory University

She has performed with the Atlanta
        Symphony Orchestra

She has taught privately for 20+ years
        and has adjudicated at numerous
        Atlanta Music Clubs and Solo and
        Ensemble festivals.

Janice Lemaire

Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone and Oboe
        instructor

B.A. in Music Education at Georgia State
        University

Band Director, Adjudicator

Teresa Lemaire

Flute
Graduated from Southern Methodist
        University (SMU) with a B.A. in Flute.

Performance in 2003, Teresa played with
        the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra
        while in High School, and was first chair
        in the Georgia Allstate Band for three years.

Received the Governor's Honor award in
        Music, and attended numerous music
        camps including Brevard.
Currently freelancing in the Atlanta area,
        and maintains a studio in the Marietta
        area at Music Rx.

Skip Runté

Skip is a performer as well as teacher.
        He is comfortable with all styles, and
        his credits include concert, night club,
        television, and recording studio work.
Skip holds a B.S.Ed. degree.
His group RENDEZ-VOUS provides
        entertainment for corporate and
        private events, while he has taught
        privately and in the public school system.
He has presented clinics workshops,
        school or club presentations for every
        level from beginner to the advanced
        student.

Rick Shoemaker

Drum instructor
A musician for over 20 years, Rick has
        performed professionally for 17 years.
        He currently plays with his own band and
        has taught extensively through several
        music stores

He teaches drum theory, fundamental
        technique, and encourages students to
        create and play many musical styles.

Rick has conducted drum clinics and
        done studio recording.
